A Gift That Can Save Lives
On June 14, 2026, We Bless We Care Foundation Inc., in partnership with the National Kidney and Transplant Institute, Rotary Club of Meycauayan, and Rotary Club of Meycauayan Metro, successfully conducted a bloodletting activity entitled “Dugong Bigay, Dugtong Buhay: Save Lives, Be a Hero.”

Held at the St. Michael Covered Court, Phase 2, Pandayan, Meycauayan City, the activity gathered members of the community, uniformed personnel, civic groups, volunteers, and walk-in donors for one shared mission: to help save lives through blood donation.
For We Bless We Care Foundation, this was more than a bloodletting event. It was a powerful reminder that compassion becomes life-saving when people come together and choose to give.
Partnership That Makes Service Possible
The activity was made possible through strong collaboration among partners who each contributed their role to make the project successful.
We Bless We Care Foundation helped organize, co-organize, sponsor, mobilize donors, coordinate partners, provide logistics, provide food, and promote the activity. These efforts helped bring the community together and encouraged more people to participate.
The National Kidney and Transplant Institute served as the medical partner for the bloodletting activity. With its blood bank services and trained team, NKTI provided the technical capability needed to safely conduct the blood drive.
The partnership with NKTI was important because blood donation requires proper screening, collection, storage, and handling. Through NKTI’s support, the activity was carried out with medical guidance and proper blood bank procedures.
Nearly 100 People Answered the Call
Nearly 100 participants signed up for the bloodletting activity.
While the final number of successful donors and blood units collected was handled by NKTI, the turnout itself showed the willingness of the community to respond to the call for help.
Every person who registered, lined up, and offered to donate became part of something meaningful.
Each potential bag of blood represents more than a medical supply. It represents hope for patients who may need blood during surgery, emergencies, treatment, or serious illness. It may one day help a mother, a father, a child, a patient with cancer, a person undergoing dialysis care, or someone fighting for life in a hospital bed.
Honoring the Heroes Who Showed Up
The event became especially meaningful because of the participation of different sectors of the community.
We Bless We Care Foundation extends its heartfelt gratitude to the PNP Meycauayan and Marilao, BFP Meycauayan, BJMP Meycauayan, St. Michael Homeowners Association, civic organizations, volunteers, and walk-in donors who generously gave their time and support.

Their presence showed that saving lives is a shared responsibility.
The Foundation was deeply touched by the willingness of uniformed personnel, community members, and ordinary citizens to come forward. Many of them came not because they personally knew who would receive the blood, but because they understood that someone, somewhere, might need it.
That is the quiet heroism of blood donation.
A Meaningful Presence of Local Leadership
The activity was further honored by the presence of Meycauayan City Vice Mayor Hon. Jojie Violago, whose support added encouragement to the organizers, volunteers, and participants.
Her presence reflected the value of local leadership in strengthening community-based health initiatives. When local leaders, medical institutions, civic organizations, and volunteers work together, health programs become more accessible and more meaningful to the people.
Every Bag of Blood Represents Hope
For We Bless We Care Foundation, the message of the activity is simple but powerful:
“Every bag of blood represents hope. Through this activity, we are reminded that saving lives is not only the work of hospitals and doctors. It is also the work of ordinary people who choose to give a part of themselves so others may live.”
This message captures the heart of Dugong Bigay, Dugtong Buhay.
Blood donation is one of the most personal forms of giving. It does not require wealth, position, or recognition. It only requires willingness, courage, and concern for others.
To every donor and participant, the Foundation offers this message:
“Your blood donation may one day become the reason another family gets more time with someone they love.”

Community Care in Action
The bloodletting activity stands as another meaningful accomplishment for We Bless We Care Foundation during the first half of 2026.
It showed what can happen when compassion is organized into action. With the help of medical partners, Rotary clubs, uniformed services, civic groups, homeowners, volunteers, and walk-in donors, a simple community activity became a life-saving effort.
This is the kind of work that reflects the mission of We Bless We Care Foundation: to serve communities, respond to real needs, and create opportunities for people to help one another.

We Bless We Care Foundation sincerely thanks all partners, donors, volunteers, and participants who made this activity possible:

Save Lives, Be a Hero
The success of Dugong Bigay, Dugtong Buhay reminds us that heroism can be simple.
Sometimes, it is found in a person who walks into a covered court, rolls up a sleeve, and gives blood for someone they may never meet.
Through this activity, We Bless We Care Foundation and its partners continue to prove that when communities unite, lives can be changed — and lives can be saved.
Together, we give.
Together, we care.
Together, we help save lives.
